Soul Food Kitchen

Hello and welcome back to Veggie Affair, a blog where I enlighten you with some of my favourite places to eat as a vegetarian in Glasgow. This week I will be discussing Soul Food Kitchen, a restaurant which is 100% vegan and prides themselves in food which is nutritionally balanced, healthy and delicious (and it most certainly is). As a company they hope to increase overall wellbeing within the community by providing great tasting plant-based food and also by holding workshops and events to help educate people.    Soul Food Kitchen is located on Sauchiehall street on the west-end side, which I love as it gives me an excuse to venture into the west-end. It is within walking distance of both kelvinhall subway stop and the train station at the exhibition centre, or equally you can walk the whole way. However, my most recent visit was on a day of torrential rain, so I most certainly didn’t walk.  During my most recent visit I ordered the ‘Mac Soul burger’ which is a smokey patty topped w

Rose and Grants

Hello and welcome back to Veggie Affair, a blog where I tell you some of my absolute go to places for vegetarian food in Glasgow. This week’s blog is on Rose and Grants a cafĂ© and delicatessen, who pride themselves in using fresh and local produce. Rose and Grants specialises in great brunch, lunch and cakes, their menu is 60% veggie and vegan, with all the cakes in their cabinet being 100% vegan. The menu is very diverse and has veggie and vegan options which are not readily available anywhere else: like vegan macaroni pies, vegan scotch pies and vegan square sausage!!  I have visited Rose and Grants multiple times and I am never disappointed. My most recent visit was only last week where I ordered the vegan French toast, maple syrup and seitan bacon. It was so good!! They have absolutely perfected this French toast recipe: it is made with a chia seed mix and tastes absolutely delicious; you wouldn’t even know it was vegan.  They offer some great other options like full breakfasts, ba

The Flying Duck

Hello and welcome back to Veggie Affair, a blog where I enlighten you about some of my favourite places to eat as a vegetarian in Glasgow. This week I am discussing The Flying Duck, an underground bar and diner which is 100% vegan. The Flying Duck is home to some of the very best vegan junk food. Who doesn’t love some greasy junk food? From big mac burgers, loaded fries, kababs to hot dogs, the menu at The Flying Duck offers pretty much everything you could possibly dream of (I have attached the menu at the bottom)   The Flying Duck is located on Renfield   street, just a few minutes off Sauchiehall street, making it a very central and accessible location. The bar itself has an extremely cool vibe and offers live music, private functions, pub quizzes and much more. The Flying Duck are currently closed due to COVID-19 and had plans to reopen tomorrow, however due to new local restrictions I suspect this will be pushed back (I am absolutely gutted as I was planning on filling up my belly

te Seba

Firstly, hello and welcome to Veggie Affair, a blog focused on my favourite places to eat as a vegetarian in and around Glasgow. As part of my marketing class at university, I have been tasked with writing a blog on anything of my interest and since eating out is my favourite hobby, I thought what would be more perfect than to share some of my absolute go-to-places for veggie scran. Before going vegetarian a few years ago, I held the misconception that food couldn’t taste good without meat or dairy- how wrong I was. Especially nowadays- restaurants, cafes and fast food places have upped their veggie/vegan game making it so much easier for food lovers like me. I have tried and tested many places during my time at university and definitely know the most delicious places to get the very best and affordable veggie food. So, without further ado, f irst on my list, is a recent visit:  te Seba. te Seba  is a pasta and prosecco restaurant located in the west end of Glasgow on Great Western roa
